PLACES TO VISIT// 'The Baking Bird', Truro

A few months ago, I got a chance to visit The Baking Bird cafe in Truro, Cornwall with some of my university friends. Set in the heart of the city, this cafe, coffee shop and bakery originally started in 2011 producing cupcakes for mail orders, home deliveries and celebrations. Baking Bird became so popular and due to high demand for their cupcakes, they moved into a lovely, quant building, which now has amazing modern furnishings, brightly coloured interior and a great atmosphere. The business offers a wide selection of cakes, tray bakes, cutting cakes and bespoke cakes to order whilst also offering a lovely selection of teas, coffees and soft drinks.

When I took a visit, I decided to pick up two of their cupcakes, the 'Peanutter' and 'Rocky Road'. The Peanutter, which is shown on the left of the image below contains a 'Crunchy peanut butter sponge filled with gooey caramel and topped with delicious chocolate frosting' and the Rocky Road is 'Rich chocolate sponge with biscuit and choc chips, filled with gooey caramel and topped with delicious chocolate frosting, marshmallows, choc chips, fudge pieces and caramel drizzle.'

(The descriptions are from the menu)

I also ordered a big pot of Tea, (because why not!) which came in a lovely big bright pink tea pot. I also got given a blue mug with birds on, to add to the 'Baking Bird' theme. The table decorations were also a bird cage with hand made birds and flowers on it, which was just so lovely!

Been anywhere recently that you would recommend? I always love trying new places!
