Hello everyone, 

So today is Friday 13th! (ahhh) which is known as a popular superstition of it being 'unlucky'. and always occurs when the 13th day of a calender month falls on a Friday. I've written a list of things that you may or may not know about this day of the year... 

1) There is a genuine phobia of 'Friday 13th'. It is called Friggatriskaidekaphobia

2) In every Friday 13th film ever produced, exactly 200 characters have been killed.

4)  The rapper, TuPac Shakur, was unfortunately killed on Friday 13th 1996 in Las Vegas

5) The longest period that can occur without a Friday 13th is 14th Months.

6) Next year, 2015, there will be THREE Friday 13ths. February, March and November. Better watch out for next year then!

7) Hotels, Hospitals and Skyscrapers have been known to skip out a '13th Floor' due to the superstition.

8) Famous people born on Friday 13th are: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (Winning London, Passport to Paris etc) Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) and Didi Conn (Frenchie in Grease)

9) For Pagans, 13 is actually a lucky number. It is the number of full moons in a year and apparently it is lucky for the Chinese too with the ancient Egyptians thinking this too. 

10) In Greece and Spanish speaking countries, Tuesday 13th is considered unlucky. Rather than Friday 13th. In Italy, Friday 17th is considered bad luck. 

Events that happened on Friday 13th.. 

11) On September 13th 1940, Buckingham Palace was Bombed. 

12) Costa Concordia wrecked of the coast of  Isola del Giglio in Italy on Friday 13th January 2012. 32 People died. 

13) on January 13th 1989, IBM computers suffered from what was known as the 'Friday 13th Virus' infecting hundreds of the computers in the UK, wiping out program files.
